Anterior Masterclass
The Anterior Masterclass Premise:
We are proud to introduce the Anterior Masterclass to our curriculum, led by one of the industry's most meticulous clinicians, Dr. Edward Li. Ed is a true master of his craft, possessing a rare gift for balancing complex colour theory, material selection, and the critical orthodontic-restorative interface.
With a clinical base in Central London, Ed treats some of the world’s most discerning patients, subtly elevating smiles through precise, minimally invasive techniques. His obsession with detail and his ability to develop repeatable, high-level protocols make him uniquely suited to lead this intensive educational experience.
This three-day programme is designed to guide clinicians through a complete, evidence-based anterior workflow—from the first consultation to the final high-lustre polish. Participants will develop the technical workflows required to deliver true dental art.
A Three-Stage Clinical Journey:
Day 1: Visualise – Master the foundations of colour theory and anterior morphology. Learn to transition from 2D smile design (using Eddtr) to 3D digital wax-up pathways and hands-on chair-side mock-ups.
Day 2: Layer – Dive deep into direct composite artistry. Practice techniques ranging from monoshade applications to complex Class IV micro-layering, masking dark substrates, and advanced polishing sequences.
Day 3: Bond – Navigate the indirect porcelain workflow with confidence. Master preparation design, lithium disilicate selection, and the nuances of adhesive cementation for cases ranging from 2 to 10 veneers.
By the end of this programme, you will possess a clear, repeatable framework for approaching any anterior case with clinical confidence and aesthetic predictability

DAY 1
Planning, case selection & foundations
Colour theory — how light behaves through tooth and material, and why it matters for every material you'll ever bond
Anterior morphology — train the eye to see what impacts the smile design and case selection
New patient consultations, case selection and treatment planning
Smile design starting from chair-side mock-ups, to basic 2D smile design with Eddtr (Dental Photo Editor) to 3D digital wax-up pathways for printed models and in-person smile trials
Ortho-to-restorative interface, focusing on the outcomes in anterior guidance that matter for your restorative phase
-
DAY 2
Direct composite artistry
Colour recap applied to composites, with system familiarity across brands
Laser gingivectomy: what it can achieve, how it's done
Then the core: anterior direct composites from monoshade through micro-layering to full Class IV build-ups
Masking dark substrates
Technique selection: freehand, shell, or full transfer
Sculpting, refining & polishing to create natural forms and high lustre results with visual breathing room
-
DAY 3
Indirect / porcelain workflow
Colour recap applied to lithium disilicate, with LT, MT, HT decision-making
Preparation design with the ethos of creating just enough space
Temporisation, cementation, controlled clean-up
How to communicate with your ceramist: photography, monolithic with stains/effects vs. layered ceramic restorations and managing expectations
Scaling from 2 to 10 veneers with confidence
Workflow recap & aftercare
