Incidental Anterior Masterclass Course

Delegates who successfully complete this course will be awarded 21 hours Verifiable CPD

Aims

To update course delegates on contemporary strategies for planning and delivering anterior aesthetic restorations, integrating smile design, direct composite techniques, and indirect ceramic workflows using modern materials and clinical protocols.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate and plan anterior aesthetic cases, including the execution of new patient consultations, smile analysis, and structured treatment planning.

  • Analyze the principles of colour theory and light behavior to accurately select and layer restorative materials.

  • Critique key aspects of anterior tooth morphology and determine their specific roles in aesthetic smile design and restorative decision-making.

  • Execute chairside and digital smile design workflows, including 5-minute mock-ups, 2D smile design with Eddtr, and 3D digital wax-up pathways.

  • Select and perform appropriate direct composite techniques for anterior restorations, including monoshade applications, micro-layering, and full Class IV build-ups.

  • Implement precise finishing and polishing protocols to create natural anatomy, surface texture, and high-lustre composite results.

  • Appraise preparation designs and adhesive protocols to ensure predictable, minimally invasive indirect anterior restorations.

  • Formulate effective communication strategies with dental laboratories, including photography and material selection, to achieve predictable aesthetic outcomes in ceramic restorative cases.
